Lawn Mowing

Coppell Lawn Mowing Services

Our Schedule
Consistency.  Customers demand it.  We understand it.

Our crew will show up to mow your lawn on the day we’re supposed to.

Our goal is get your lawn mowed on the day we promise 90% of the time.  About 10% of the time, we do expect our crews to be running behind, usually due to weather.  When this happens, we won’t skip you, but we’ll be a day late.

Pricing

Most lawns are $38.50 per mow

Additional charges may apply for corner lots, alleys, stepping stones, retaining walls, excessive obstacles, steep inclines, pools and wrought iron fences.

Terms
We ask that all clients commit to a six mow minimum commitment. After we mow the lawn six times, you are free to cancel for any reason with no advance notice.

Season Start and End
Our service goes weekly from March to mid-October. In mid-October, we automatically switch all of our clients to every-other-week. Our lawn mowing service ends in early November.

Skipping
We understand many consumers are struggling with a higher cost of living. After 22+ years of experience, we’ve learned not to be angry when a client wants to skip a few mows. Our philosophy is, we’d much prefer a client skip a few mows vs cancel. We schedule 34 mows per year, with weekly service beginning in March. We switch to every other week in mid-October and the final mow is early November. Think of our schedule like a robot. The robot doesn’t care if the home owner thinks the lawn needs to mowed or not. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll be following that robotic schedule. However, if the grass isn’t growing very fast, and you don’t want it mowed every week for a while, just give us a call and let us know. We’re happy to schedule some skips for you. It is never a problem if the grass isn’t growing fast.

First Mow
Usually, we are able to mow the lawn the first time for the normal price.  However, if we show up for the very first lawn mowing and the lawn is too overgrown to mow in the normal amount of time, we will have to charge by the hour for the first lawn mowing.  In the event of an overgrown lawn on the first mow, our crew will notify us and we will call you to confirm hourly billing before we mow it. After that, each lawn mowing will be the normal price as long as you stay on our service.

What’s Included?
Our lawn mowing service consists of mowing all lawn areas, edging all concrete edges with a blade edger, line trimming along all borders and dispersing all clippings with our blowers.

What’s Not Included?
If you have large trees that produce a lot of leaves in the winter, and you don’t get it cleaned up, we won’t be able to clean it up for free when we return in the spring for the first lawn mowing.  We will simply run our mowers over the leaves and disperse them to the best of our abilities with our blowers.  The leaves will pile up in the corners and along the fence lines. Over time, with each mow, the leaves will become less noticeable.  If you would like the crew to spend additional time on your lawn to do a thorough job of cleaning up the leaves (and leave them in trash bags by the curb for trash pickup), please call the office and we are happy to have them record their time on the next visit (hourly rates apply).

Sign Ups After Labor Day
Clients who sign up after Labor Day are often the first to cancel in March. Some home owners fire their lawn guy in August, assuming they won’t need to mow their lawn again for the year. When the rains come back in the fall, we are one of the few that will answer the phone and return calls promptly. Clients who sign up after Labor Day, but before the end of the lawn mowing season, must pay a $30 non-refundable fee to get on our lawn mowing schedule. Any clients who get on our lawn mowing schedule during this period will get a free mow in the first week of May, along with a refund of the $30 fee, provided they’re still on our lawn mowing schedule and haven’t cancelled service.

Beds
We do not clean flower beds with a routine lawn mowing.  If you would like to have us spray the weeds in the beds when we are there to mow the lawn, you may be interested in our bed weed control service.

Bagging
Our default lawn mowing is to mulch the clippings into the lawn, which is satisfactory for 99% of our clients.  If you want us to bag the clippings, we can, but it creates more work for our crews. Normal sized lawns are $10 extra (or $5 extra to bag clippings in the back yard only). If our crew fills a 30 gallon trash bag while at your home, the trash bags(s) will be left by the curb for trash pickup.

Bi-Weekly Lawn Mowing
We’ve been around for 22+ years. In the past, we’ve tried offering this service year-round. Clients accuse us of not mowing 10 days after we mow it and want refunds. But more importantly, when it’s raining near the summer solstice, our crews will have to spend extra time on a weekly lawn to get in and out without a complaint. If a lawn crew shows up to mow a lawn with two weeks of growth during fast growth conditions, that’s when we start getting calls from extremely angry clients who act like we murdered their grand children! For this reason, we do not offer bi-weekly, (also known as every other week) lawn mowing. We will choose to go out of business before we offer year-round bi-weekly service again. All of our clients are on weekly service and that is all we offer. However, if you want to skip some mows when the grass isn’t growing fast, such as early spring or a drought, we are happy to schedule those for you.

Surprises
When we quote a price for lawn mowing, it’s based on square footage and a view on Google Maps. The price assumes a fairly open, flat lawn.  The price we quote over the phone is the right price 95% of the time.  However, if we show up and we encounter excessive obstacles, or if your lawn has a steep hill or a lot of retaining walls that create more work, our crew will mow your lawn on the first trip at the quoted price (provided it’s not over grown).  We will then contact you and let you know of the price increase.  If you agree, we’ll continue service.  If you disagree, we’ll waive the six mow commitment and take you off the schedule.

Sprinkler Heads
In the event that we accidentally damage a sprinkler head, call us within a week and we will repair it at no cost.

Landscape Lights
If you have landscape lights installed in your beds, we shouldn’t have any problems if they are installed away from the lawn.  However, if they’re installed in the lawn, or even in the beds but the lights are very close to the lawn, our line trimmers and mowers will likely damage them.

Gates
If you want to keep your gate locked, its best if you use a combo lock and provide us with the combo.  The kind that rotate left to right to left are too complicated for us. We need the kind you line up in a straight line, like a brief case. If the gate is locked when we arrive, we will not mow the back lawn.  We do not discount our price if we’re unable to mow the back lawn.  However, if you call us, we’ll return to mow the back for free as soon as we can, usually the next day.

Pools
Pools create extra work for our crews.  Even though there is less grass to mow, pools take more time because there is more to edge and trim.  We also have to be careful to avoid getting excessive clippings in the pool.  Its impossible to service a pool account and not get any clippings in the pool, but we do work hard to minimize the mess.  If you install a pool, we won’t raise your mowing price, but we won’t lower it either.
